Green Webhost: DreamHost

by on Saturday, May 5th, 2007

I think it is pretty cool that DreamHost has gone green. I can’t say that i fully understand what it means to be a green host, as i am still learning about the different environmental issues, but i duly note the effort, and the progressive nature of the move. DreamHost has always been a pretty liberal and fun organization, i use to host with them for a previous site i had, and i always looked forward to their off-beat wacky newsletters. This will be filed under green living. Any comments on this?

Who Says Vegetarians Aren’t Funny?

by on Friday, May 4th, 2007

Here are a few funny vegetarian quotes i came across over at HappyCow.net

my favorite: With all this crap they put in meat, like hormones for fast growing, antibiotics, etc… we will all go down, there’s only the vegetarians that will survive – so let me give you a good piece of advice: if you want to eat some healthy meat, eat a vegetarian! -JeanLuc LeMoine, French humorist

What’s the difference between boogers and broccoli ?
-Kids don’t eat broccoli.

What did the lettuce say to the celery?
-Are you stalking me?

Why did the Tomato go out with a prune?
-Because he couldn’t find a date!

I’m not a vegetarian because I love animals,
it’s because I hate vegetables!

– Woody Allen

Eating behaviors which make you fat

by on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

The number of the weight scale is caused from what you eat. The food you eat is the things to make you fat or thin. You have to consider in what you eat first before thinking to be on diet because if you don’t realize the pattern of what you eat is right or wrong, we will just continue doing the wrong diet or even you try to exercise, it will not help.

Stop all these behaviors if you eat unhealthy food, wrong type of calories per meal and eating meal in the wrong pattern each day. For instance, eating breakfast at 10am, lunch at 3pm, dinner at 9pm and the meal before sleep at 1am in the morning, your body is working like an engine, they set the time to work if you don’t eat food in the right time, your body will not work on burning the calories you eat and store it to be fat instead. If you realize that your behavior is similar to those things, you have to stop it right now.

I agree that exercising is very important tool to lose weight but exercising will mean nothing if you don’t change your eating behavior. Don’t worry too much on the number of the scale when you start dieting. At first, it might seem like you don’t lose any pounds but you have to wait for a little while. For better result, you better set the time like when you achieve dieting in first month, put yourself on the scale to see the improvement. Don’t make the unimportant information interfere your attempt.
