YOGA FOR WOMEN by Meghna Virk Bains

by Bibbi on August 2nd, 2012

This is the first book, which is exclusively for women. Toiletries, linen, machines and medicines, yes. But books on Yoga? No way. Yoga is the thing in today’s stressful world. The author deals with the subject systematically. First, the history, then the basis, and followed by complete discipline.
What is so special about the book? The style! It is not one of those cut and dry edicts. It is written in a very friendly tone and at the end of each ‘asana’ there is a friendly tip. The entire journey through life is covered in catchy captions like troublesome teenage, moonlit marriage years etc. The segment on pregnancy is very useful. In the book the gestation period has been divided into three semesters and dealt with systematically. Chapters on menopause and ageing years follow.
Each phase of a woman’s life is dealt with utmost care and love. It’s like somebody holding your hand and guiding you through difficult maze. A difficult subject like Yoga is dealt with serious philosophy, yet ground realities are not ignored. This book is a must on the worktable of upwardly mobile young ladies of today.

The author’s endeavour in the yoga session is to help the individual discover their unique nature, learn their body language and make peace with who they are. This book is to make all those, whom she may not personally come in contact with, to see the vision she believes in.
